The panel of judges also recognized APM Terminals Inland Services for their management of biodegradable material in long-standing containers and appreciated its commitment to sustainable operations.

APM Terminals India wins Best Inland Service Provider Award for third consecutive year, 2014 at ELSC 2014

AwardsAPM Terminals India was named ¨Best Inland Service Provider¨ for the third time in three years at the recently concluded 8th Annual Express, Logistics and Supply Chain (ELSC) Conclave, 2014 held in India´s maritime and commercial capital of Mumbai. The award was presented among the categories of ELSC Service Excellence on September 25th.

AwardsThe Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), a premier industry body in India recognized APM Terminals Inland Services with its prestigious 2013 Supply Chain and Logistics Excellence Award (SCALE Award) at a glittering ceremony in Mumbai on 22 May 2014.

APM Terminals Inland Services was selected to be the winner in the container logistics category based on a stringent evaluation of our business case and subsequent presentation to the jury in terms of growth parameters in volume and profitability, operational efficiency to increase customer satisfaction and expansion in the Indian subcontinent over the last 3 years.

A total of 106 blue chip organizations participated across industries and 36 were selected for the final round. APM Terminals Inland Services won the award followed by Container Corporation of India in second place.

The jury comprised of an elite panel selected by CII from various sections of logistics industry, Government bodies, educationists and consultants.

APM Terminals Inland Services wins "CFS Operator of the Year" award from Gateway Media

AwardsThe Chennai CFS of APM Terminals Inland Services South Asia, was awarded as the “Container Freight Station of the Year” in India in the recently concluded India Maritime Week in New Delhi organised by Gateway Media. The award recognizes the company’s efforts to promote EXIM trade through creation of modern facilities and infrastructure. It also recognises the high levels of efficiency and productivity displayed during 2011.

The jury had set up a rigorous screening process wherein participants were judged on volume growth, operational & financial performance ,innovation at work , Eco friendly approach. APM Terminals Inland Services had to compete with over hundred Public Sector, Private Sector national & regional players to emerge as a winner.

Subhasis Ghosh, Managing Director, APM Terminals India Pvt. Ltd., received this award from Mr. K. Mohandas Secretary, Ministry of Shipping, Govt. of India in a star studded gatheriing on 19th Jan 2012 in New Delhi.





APM Terminals Inland Services, Chennai wins 5S Excellence award from CII

AwardsWith an endeavor to improve our work place in terms of increasing the safety standards, productivity and overall morale of the employees/workers/laborers, APM Terminals Inland services Chennai decided to implement this concept of 5S. We started work on 5 ‘S’ implementation in the month of September 2011 and it took about couple of months for us to get the implementation work carried out in various stages.

Within 3 months we approached the confederation of Indian Industries (CII) to evaluate us on 5-S in the yearly competition from CII. Subsequently 2 senior auditors from CII did a comprehensive 5-S audit early this month. In this competition 32 companies participated, the major ones include Asahi Glass, Ashok Leyland, Motherson automotive, Tafe ltd, Cognizant Tech, DHL, HDFC, TVS Ltd, etc ( there was no logistics segment in this competition ).

The result of this competition is we have won the 'Strong Commitment' award from CII; only 4 companies have won this award from the contestants. We scored 580 points which qualifies for this award. In other words we are among the top 5 companies who contested. CII praised us for Strong commitment and leadership of management team, good safety procedures followed at site, effective visual displays, and good documentation procedures.

5S is a five-step technique for creating and maintaining a good housekeeping at workplace, which makes it free of clutter, well-organized and clean. The effect of 5S on continuous improvement can lead to less waste, better quality and faster lead times. Indian organizations have been successfully adopting 5S practices to create a positive and competitive work environment for its employees. The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) Southern Region organizes the 5S Excellence Award annually to motivate and recognize member companies which successfully implement and sustain 5S practices in their organization. The award is open to Small, Medium and Large scale companies engaged in the field of Manufacturing & services.
